Oh it’s been a busy day: Went to an artisan’s show this morning. It was so inspiring to see such talented people doing what they love for a living. Truly inspiring.
Caulked the piece of glass again in my cold frame. The caulking didn’t take the first time so I’ve done it again. I am afraid it is just too damp outside, may bring it inside tomorrow to dry…
The boys played in the leaves in our yard which was a pleasure to witness. Love those boys enjoying being outside and just having fun with what’s around, not needing any toys to make things interesting (but that happens too!).
While the boys were playing I made myself a cup of tea and a snack and sat down to mend things. I don’t know if I will get much further than that tonight. I have been neglecting that photo shoot I did over a week ago (eek!) – must get it done!
I took out some actual watercolour paper instead of using the mixed media sketchbook I have. It’s awful for watercolour I’ve quickly found out. Water dries ridiculously quick and the paper distorts. Ugh.
As soon as I started laying down water and colour it was like a whole new world below me! I haven’t done much watercolour at all but I could tell the difference in papers and immediately felt excited.
I added a background wash and waited for it to dry which didn’t take long, to my surprise.
I crocheted a couple of rows of my first of two pair of Minecraft fingerless gloves for my boys while the paint dried for the background. Two birds with one stone…
Then back to the painting. I’ve visited a lot of blogs lately where the artists are using watercolour with acrylics and ink and I wanted to give it a try.
I’ve had this simple idea in my head for a very long time. very long. but wasn’t sure how to bring it to paper.
Should I add more hearts to the left? Not sure…
It’s simple. Fun.
Felt good.
I think I may do more of this!
Off to see what other lovely amazing artists are up to this month!
Thanks for dropping by. Your painting is a cutie
And thank you!;)
I just love this page of all those hearts jumping off a cliff and then finding their wings and fly. So much is said with this art work without using any words. We all have this fear of jumping of a cliff, but if we stay centered in love we find that we can fly. It is just beautiful.
oh gee, blushing. you’re description is pretty much bang on, too. courage to fly. thank you. 🙂
So cute …. Love it!
thank you! it was fun!
