I’ve been working on a commission with a coffee theme so I have been doing some sketching and painting using different techniques. I love it when someone asks me to make art for them! Thank you thank you thank you! 🙂 I just can’t throw something together so the commissions take time as I find a drawing that really feels just right for that person. I don’t want to paint as soon as I am done drawing because I need to figure out first how I want it to look with paint: do I use watercolour, pencil and shading, acrylic, do I leave a bunch of white space or use paint to fill those areas? Eesh. I do think of these things as I am sketching as well. It’s a lot for me to think about because I want the piece to feel just right when I send it out.
Here are a couple of sketches I’ve done with coffee in mind and just some watercolour paint fun, working on faces too. The steam on the coffee is actually coffee. It smells good. 🙂
Happy creating!

Huge congrats to you and when you’re ready please share where it will be (if it’s going to be displayed for the public). Would love to see it and spread the word too. You’re absolutely talented my friend xxx
Oh, Malini, thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! ❤ This is a private commission but once it has been delivered I will share it if given permission. I plan on starting a shop this year too (eek!). No pressure, right?
