I am taking a course – yes another! – over at the Jeanne Oliver Creative Network. This time it is Cathy Walter’s Wild and Free Art Journaling. I am loving Cathy! She is so laid back and doesn’t say, ‘Hey, you need to get these art supplies to do this!’. I know that when you are practicing a certain technique it can be really beneficial to have those supplies, and I love love love suggestions on what’s best and what other artists use and have learned so much this way. So Cathy shows you what she uses for art journaling but you don’t NEED those supplies. Use whatever!

Here is my first page from Lesson 1. It’s a quick page although not as fast as Cathy’s was in her video. I probably took twice the time but I haven’t done much journaling. Her video helped me to just get something down and not think too much, even if it did take a little longer. Loved it!

I have two journals, one big and one small and the small on I haven’t used yet. I was hoping that this course would get me more interested in using them and it certainly has! I love the idea of an art journal but allowing yourself to just do something no matter how it looks is a challenge.
