I am enjoying being a part of the 29 faces challenge and Creative Every Day for this week. I need to work on faces so I started with the ones I find the easiest – front view.
This is from Day 2:
I drew this one today, Day 3:
I drew them both on the same sheet of watercolour paper. They are brothers so they go together. 🙂
I painted them with watercolour but intentionally let the paint come out of the lines to loosen it up a bit. Then I added a bit of pencil shading and retraced the lines so that they were more visible.
Not sure which I like better, the pencil or the painted, but it’s all practice so I shouldn’t be too fussy. I enjoyed the process and that’s what counts!
Happy creating!

I love them both but I’m definitely a huge fan of the watercolor version! The eyes, in particular, are striking colored that shade of blue. Beautiful!
Thank you, Elizabeth, as always! They do really have blue blue eyes. 🙂
All these are wonderful drawings, from the line drawing to the color added.
Thank you! 🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂
They are so sweet! I love the penciled versions, but the watercolored versions give such a loose airy feel to them. They are utterly charming!
Thank you! *big smiles*
I like the loose style of painting. It definitely adds something to it!
I had fun with it and think I will try it on a journal page next…
I am partial to the watercolour version 🙂 Nicely done.
Hmmm…thank you, Kim. Maybe I am beginning to like it more…:)
i love the long thin necks
you have a lovely style that i enjoy
i like both, the pencil and the painted
I think I am finding my style is in long, thin limbs. When I think about drawings that I have done over the years there are those similarities.
I like the look of too of long thin necks. Very nice job Moongirl.
Thank you, Gloria! 🙂
I like how you can capture personality with just few lines. That’s very skillful!
Thank you so much! 🙂
So pretty with the color! Great style!
Cindy! 🙂
