This past Saturday was our second Mamma’s Hike! It was no warmer than the first hike and again the sky was clear and it was beautiful. We were prepared with layers of clothing and some of us even had snow shoes which came in handy for the second half of the trail.
This time we went along the green route that took us past Hobson’s Lake, Big Pine, Coyote Bog and back to the parking lot. It was about 3 ¼ hours total and I had been tracking it on my phone but yet again, my phone died from the cold. According to the map we went almost 4 kilometres doing the Hobson’s Lake Loop.
I took this picture with my point and shoot camera sitting on top of a friend’s backpack, thus the shadow at the bottom. I didn’t want to take my DSLR because I already had enough weight in my backpack. We are on a lake.

Some areas were easier to traverse due to the snowshoers who came before us.
Bunny prints! This is the most wildlife we saw which was odd. I guess most animals were hunkering down to keep warm.
Love the fungus on this tree.
…and this one…
Icicle photo op!
I love the way the water ran down this branch and froze.
Moss is so neat.
I was so super pooped after this trek but it was worth it. A beautiful day with a great group of women! 🙂
