My art table sits in a corner of our dining room. I know it’s not the best spot but it makes it easy for me to sit down and create while cooking, home schooling and many other things. The down side of this is that it is also easy to use it as a spot to pile things up when the dining table needs to be cleared. I am constantly fighting the mess. Somehow, I still manage to find a bit of space to create. Yay!
I just recently found some really cool paper for origami at our local book store so we cleared off the dining table (!) and the boys and I sat down started folding – easy stuff first – and it was fun! We made some cute little boxes and I used mine to hold some lovely raw crystals that – surprise surprise! – sit on my art table!
I love these boxes and they are a great idea for gifting little treasures too!
A while back I won some Inktense pencils from Aideen Fallon on YouTube. Aideen has some great videos on different crafting and art supplies so I was super excited to win these from her! Thanks again, Aideen!
My first try with the pencils was okay. But I have to say that I really like my second piece. I am falling in love with these pencils! They work a lot like watercolour pencils where you can use them dry or wet but they are ink in a pencil instead. When you wet them the colours are amazing! I am presently working on another piece which I hope to post here tomorrow. 😉 I’m totally hooked on Inktense. ♥
I’ve also been trying my hand at wood burning again after, well, let’s just say it’s been many years! I haven’t had a chance to do a lot of burning as things unexpected came up but I did manage to make two ornaments. I gave one to a great friend and kept one for myself. This whole wood burning thing is pretty fun and I loved adding the paint to the pieces too. There is something about making teeny tiny pieces that is super fun.
Off to hang with my boys and hopefully do some painting!
Happy creating!
Don’t forget that this Christmas will be a full moon as well! Oh, I am so excited!

Yum! So much eye candy here!! I especially adore that second girl on the book page — so fabulous! And an owl ornament! How does it get any better than that?? Lovely work, as always. <3
Thank you, Melanie! I have to say that seeing you constantly creating is a big inspiration! ❤
LOVE your girls with the Inktense pencils!!! ♥♥♥♥
Thank you, Robin! I am having so much fun with them! 🙂
That blue girl is so gorgeous….. I love everything about her. And your wood ornaments …. Love them! I like the circle shape. Inktense pencils have been my favorite for years, love the bright strong colours. I’m glad you discovered them!
Thank you, Denise. 🙂 I had a lot of fun with the ornaments and do plan on making more – some time! Ha! I am totally in love with these pencils. They are so fun and every time I add water to them it’s like magic – such rich colour!
