My focus has been elsewhere other than ‘art-ing’ these past days: preparing for a new season and ways to keep us all tip top with our immune systems.

I do love my kitchen witchery. I still have to make my yearly echinacea tincture and this year instead of just making elderberry syrup when it’s needed I am going to make a tincture as well. Double whammy!

Here is my list of tasks for the week in my Bullet Journal. Oh, how I love my BuJo! I am about halfway through this list which I consider not bad since I really did load up my plate this week. This doesn’t even count sleeping, cooking and all the other things that go into a family day. 🙂

bujo All herbs from my garden or that of friends. Love it that way.herbs Lemon balm for the belly.lemon balmThis is how I grate my ‘eeswax’. 😉eeswaxI felt the urge to make some St John’s Wort Salve when my husband badly burnt his arm on a cookie sheet. The top two bigger containers look different because they are still cooling. You know, bigger volume, more liquid, more cooling time…all that we learned in high school kinda stuff.

Love that game and it was ever so lovely sitting cuddled in the couch with wine, a book and my art supplies while listening to them all playing. Good evenings indeed.

All of this herbal making this week got me thinking about our Faerie friends and, with a little bit of inspiration from Jane Davenport‘s awesome book, Drawing and Painting Beautiful Faces, I created this lovely lady. I wasn’t quite sure how I should place the eyes for a faerie and she had a sketch to go from. I added all the extras myself, just need a start. I feel like she is more of a wood nymph than anything else – or perhaps a water nymph as her hair ends remind me of water droplets. Yes, a water nymph. I like that. I think I may have to create more along this line and add colour, ooooh yes, colour!

I really need to follow your example and do something with the herbs I have collected and dried! Thanks for inspiration!
