IMG_4868I have been busy putting layers on the paining that I had mentioned in a previous post. It took me a little longer than expected to finish it because I had to deal with a pissy kitty. Literally. She needed a bath which was her first one ever since we have had her. I couldn’t help but show a pic of her all wet and looking quite unsure of what just happened. Each time I went to take a pic she would start grooming herself again so this is the best I could get with my phone (my camera is ‘in the shop’).

Her name is Gypsy and she is a Norwegian Forest Cat. When we took her home from the SPCA  just over a year ago we weren’t sure how long her hair really was as they had had to shave her to get out the matts. It’s pretty darn long and pretty awesome with no shedding – which is really good for me as I am generally allergic to cats. Poor kitty. She’s been a stray which is hard to believe because she is the bestest cat ever and our first so that is definitely awesome.:¬)

After her bath my husband said she looked like a mad witch’s cat. Ya, I was a little mad. 😉 But, she’s cute and sweet and I think, deep down, she was thankful for that bath. No one likes pee on themselves. Don’t ask.

So yes, I have finished the painting – yay!!! It felt so good to have that deadline for myself in order to submit a piece for a show. It did not matter that I only had about five days amidst the lovely chaos of family life. I had to find a way to prove to myself that no matter how crazy things get, I can do this. 🙂

Have to run but I am working on the post for the painting – finished and all.

Happy creating!

I was very surprised at how well she did. I did plan ahead of time by filling the tub with a few inches and getting a towel and soap ready. That helped. My husband said as he watched that I have a real connections with animals. That made me feel good. 🙂
