Today I will be following along with Ginny for her Yarn Along series. I am hoping it help me make time to knit/crochet (I have too many projects on the go!) and read (too many books sitting on my art table waiting to be loved).
I am knitting a cowl with some extra cotton I have had laying around – it’s an easy pattern, sometimes too easy so I make mistakes!
I am quite enjoying this book. The life of moss is amazing, no kidding! I love moss so much and am always on the lookout for it when on a trail so I figured it was due time I learned more about them.
If you are feeling you need a push to create or read or looking for some inspiration of this kind you can visit Ginny’s blog with the Yarn Along image above.
Happy Creating!

What a lovely, squishy cowl that looks like it will be!
I think I may finish it today. It’s made of cotton so it should be just right for those cool summer breezes. 🙂
did you mention this book previously? because someone did and now i have it on my wish-list. i love moss as well!
Hi Autumn. I don’t think I did – or I may have on my other blog…now you have me wondering! It’s a great book and I have become well enamoured with moss for more than just their squishy, ‘carpetty’ feel underfoot.
love your squishy cowl, very pretty! I like yarn along because it keeps me accountable in my projects.
Yes! That’s what I am thinking. Hope it works! 🙂
I just picked up that book from the library! So glad to hear it’s good. I have a cowl partially cast on–I have such a hard time knitting this time of year.
I agree, Andrea. Once the fall hits I am all about knitting and being all cozied up. Now that all I want to do it be outside, the knits just sit there for a while. 🙂 I am loving the book and she has this amazing way of connecting her life to the life of moss. It’s wonderful.
your cowl is looking wonderful
I understand lots of projects…. i limit myself to art, photography and poetry
and then all the things one needs to do in life- they all seem to be done in an artful way too 😉 love hearing about this book, i also enjoy moss and planted a moss garden last fall, it wintered good under the snow, but this warm spring seems to have killed a lot of it. Or perhaps it will come back?
According to the book, moss will come back with water. It holds it in its leaves as it doesn’t have roots. It’s all very cool! I’d love to see a picture of your moss garden when it comes back again. Sounds wonderful!
